So we wanted to give a shout-out to a very special local business who is excellent at both!
Encino Dry Cleaners is a family owned and operated dry cleaners who have been in business since 1947. We have been sending our customers there for 25 years!
All spotting is done by hand by Dick Winters (a.k.a “the Dad”) or Danny ( a.k.a. “the son”). Trust us, these two are miracle-workers!
Oh, the stories we could tell! 
More than once, we have had customers who bought designer eveningwear from our store, and got a nasty spot on the dress. They used ‘another’ dry cleaners (shall remain nameless) who could not get the spot out and said: “Your dress is ruined”.
Upon hearing this upsetting news, we made sure they brought the dress over to Encino Dry Cleaners…and Viola! Dick and Danny worked their special magic, and the dress was saved from the trash and lived to see many other special events!
Encino Dry Cleaners’ specialty is world class cleaning and preservation of wedding gowns..Jan (a.k.a. “the mom”) is the wedding gown expert.
Oh, the red wine, oh, the grass stains from the photo shoot, oh, the soaked-in sand, ocean-water, AND red wine ( would have liked to be a fly on the wall at THAT destination wedding!) –It’s all in a days work for the Winters’!
Their preservation process is not the old fashioned kind, where the gown is sealed and you cannot open it for 30 years. They use a museum-quality preservation service, in which the gown ( after cleaning and spotting) is placed in a special acid-free box, packed with acid free tissues. Therefore, you can open it, touch it and feel it. ( and try it on every year to make sure you still fit into it!
Julie ( ‘the daughter”) even does custom embroidery, which is SO convenient!
In our humble opinion, Encino Dry Cleaners is the best Dry Cleaners in Los Angeles!

A word to the wise; please protect your investment: It REALLY does matter where you take your precious investment–your wedding dress–True story: A customer of ours took her dress to a similarly named cleaners in the same town–( by accident) sure enough they ruined her Gorgeous $5,000 Italian Wedding gown she bought from us. PLEASE take it to the best quality place you can, and if you will be going to Encino Dry Cleaners, be sure you know its the one ACROSS FROM ENCINO PARK, with a big green sign.
The Lili Pad is right: You can’t be too careful when it comes to dry cleaning your most important dress. The high-quality fabrics, ornamentation and delicate silks that make up many bridal gowns needs special care and special training. Gown Preservation is another technique that needs still more training. Please don’t expect to pay normal dry cleaning prices for your wedding dress; but the cost is worth it to get the job done right!
