The Lili Claire foundation was started in 1998 to honor the Memory of Lili Claire Resnick, who is our founder-- Lili's-- great granddaughter.

Lili Claire died of complications from a birth defect called William's syndrome when she was only 5 1/2 months old.

Despite her short life, Lili has inspired a new awareness and an outpouring of caring in the community for the complexities of William's Syndrome, down Syndrome, and Autism , among so many others.

The Lili Claire Family Resource Center was established at UCLA and since it's inception, has helped hundreds, if not thousands of children and their families. Through generous donations and public support, the foundation has been able to open 2 more centers, at University of Nevada, Las Vegas as well as at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Our goal is to expand even more in the coming years, as the need for families has been so great.

Located in Kanab Utah, in an area called Angel's Canyon, is a home to no less than 1500 dogs, cats, horses, pigs, rabbits (and more!) who have been taken in from shelters, rescue groups and abusive homes from all over the country. It is the country's largest No-Kill Shelter. Many of these animals are adopted into loving homes. But those who cannot be will have a home to live out the rest of their lives in peace. In Los Angeles, as well as other communities, Best Friends host local adoption events where hundreds of wonderful animals are adopted into loving homes.

We also recommend adopting animals from your local shelter or rescue organization rather than purchasing your dog from a breeder or pet store. Just ask us, our owner’s dog, Lucy, was rescued from the shelter on her last day. You may run into this corgi-golden retriever mix when you are visiting the store. Of the local rescue organizations, Karma Rescue is our favorite group.
